1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners.
TechSynergy Corp. (provider of the Mobily™ service) uses cookies to enhance your experience, keep you logged in, and understand how you use our service.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Authentication: To keep you logged into your account
- Security: To protect your account and detect fraudulent activity
- Preferences: To remember your settings and preferences
- Analytics: To understand how you use our service
- Performance: To improve the speed and functionality of our service
3. Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually only set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or filling out forms.
- Session cookies: Keep you logged in during your session
- Security cookies: Enable security features and detect abuse
- CSRF tokens: Protect against cross-site request forgery attacks
Duration: Session or up to 30 days
Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we use.
- Preference cookies: Remember your settings and preferences
- Affiliate referral cookie (
mobily_aff): Set when you arrive via an affiliate or partner referral link. Contains only a hashed affiliate ID and expiry timestamp — no personal data. Expires after 30 days or at checkout. Used solely to attribute commission to the referring partner.
Duration: Up to 1 year
Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously.
- Usage analytics: Track pages visited and features used
- Performance metrics: Measure page load times and errors
- User behavior: Understand navigation patterns
Duration: Up to 2 years
4. Third-Party Cookies
We use the following third-party services that may set cookies:
Stripe
Used for payment processing. Stripe may set cookies to prevent fraud and ensure secure transactions.
Google reCAPTCHA
Used on our contact form to detect and prevent automated abuse. reCAPTCHA may set cookies and collect behavioral data to assess whether you are a human.
Font Awesome CDN
Used for icons. Does not set cookies.
Google Safe Browsing
Used by the URL Safety API to check URLs against threat intelligence databases. No cookies are set in user browsers — this is a server-side API call. Only the scanned URL is transmitted; no user identifiers are included.
5. Your Consent & Privacy Choices
In compliance with Québec Law 25 (Loi 25 — Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information) and Canada's PIPEDA, we require your explicit consent before setting any non-essential cookies in your browser.
Default behaviour: When you first visit Mobily, only strictly-necessary cookies are set. Analytics and tracking cookies (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager) are not loaded until you click "Accept analytics" on the consent banner.
5.1 Consent Banner
On your first visit a banner appears at the bottom of the screen offering two choices:
- Accept analytics — loads GA4, Google Ads, and GTM; stores your choice in
mobily_consentfor 1 year. - Essential only — no analytics scripts are loaded; stores your choice in
mobily_consentfor 1 year.
You may change your choice at any time by clearing the mobily_consent cookie in your browser — the banner will reappear on your next visit.
5.2 Managing Cookies
You have several options for managing cookies:
5.2a Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:
- Block all cookies
- Block third-party cookies only
- Delete cookies after each browsing session
- Accept or reject cookies on a case-by-case basis
Note: Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of our service, including logging in and managing your account.
5.2b Browser Instructions
Learn how to manage cookies in popular browsers:
6. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control
Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. There is currently no binding Canadian standard requiring websites to honour DNT signals; however, our consent-first approach means analytics cookies are not set by default regardless of your browser's DNT setting.
If you have already accepted analytics cookies and wish to withdraw consent, clear the mobily_consent cookie or choose "Essential only" on any page where the consent banner reappears.
7. Cookies for Short Links
When someone clicks on your shortened links, we may use cookies to:
- Track unique visitors vs. repeat visitors
- Prevent duplicate click counting
- Measure campaign effectiveness
These cookies do not collect personally identifiable information and are used solely for analytics purposes.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page.
